Direct marking of milling tools

Laser/special machine for separation, marking and magazining of milling tools

Task

  • For a medium sized manufacturer of drilling and milling tools, topex developed and built a special system for marking these tools.
  • The tools are removed from a magazine by a 6-axis robot.
  • The tools are then automatically measured and cleaned before the robot takes them to the laser marking area.
  • In this area, the parts are marked directly with a fibre laser.
  • The rotary axis on the robot allows marking around the entire circumference of the tool shank.
  • The finished tools are then deposited in a corresponding magazine.
