Task
- For a global supplier of accessory technology for drilling platforms, topex developed and built a special system for laser marking of RFID tape.
- The tape allows maintenance-intensive components such as anchor chains, etc. to be uniquely marked and described with data in order to manage maintenance and repair cycles.
- The tape is fed into the laser marking area from a motorised large roll unwinder.
- In this area, parts are marked directly with an Nd:YAG marking laser and the specific information is transferred to the integrated RFID chip.
- The tape is then made up to the appropriate lengths.
